The leadership of Laity Lodge prepares and facilitates retreats in the canyon hosting as many as 65 constituents 40 to 50 weekends in a year. Laity Lodge leadership builds deep and lasting relationships with its constituency—retreat speakers, artists, attendees and hosts. Every member of the retreat staff provides hospitality with excellence and grace.
The Program Intern will serve in a support capacity to the Laity Lodge staff for a 2-3 year fellowship and capitalize on the opportunity to work with thought leaders and influencers across denominations, academic institutions and ministries.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist the Program Manager in a variety of tasks including logistics for speakers, retreat attendees, and hosts/staff of Laity Lodge; audio/visual communications, bookstore inventory, retreat registration, and general office/administrative duties.
• Attend most Laity Lodge retreats serving as a host and assisting the Director of Laity Lodge and the Director of Operations.
• Interface and assist Laity Lodge staff in various aspects of program development, implementation, and communications to the speakers, hosts, artists, and retreat attendees.
• Supervise administrative tasks related to calendaring, meeting management, retreat registration, and retreat operations.
Skills traits, capabilities and experience
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; interest in or course work in theological/pastoral/ministerial studies is a plus.
• A minimum of 1 to 2 years professional work experience in a variety of operating/support roles.
• Experience and expertise in using a variety of technology tools to effectively manage and execute tasks.
• Exposure to or familiarity with a wide variety of denominations and congregational life is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with a wide variety of Christian authors and speakers is highly desirable.
• Gifting as a musician/worship leader is a plus.
• Ability to aid in various aspects of pastoral care, worship, and music regarding program development and implementation is a plus.
• Commitment to living out the mission, vision, and values of Laity Lodge, motivated by Jesus Christ's call to servant leadership.
• Excellent written and oral communication skill.

• The position will report directly to Steven Purcell, Director of Laity Lodge, responsible for the day-to-day program operations of Laity Lodge.
